Revolt Chat: Getting error while deploying - address already in use reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- itsme_sangamkr 路 2023-10-10 20:35 Hello everyone I'm trying to deploy Revolt on my VPS using docker. But I'm getting this error `Error starting userland proxy: listen tcp4 0.0.0.0:443: bind: address already in use` I have also updated my .env file but don't know why it's still considering 0.0.0.0 as HOSTNAME Here's what I have configured in .env HOSTNAME=revolt.mydomain.com REVOLT_APP_URL=https://revolt.mydomain.com/ I haven't touched the `docker-compose.yml` file yet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy 路 2023-10-10 20:42 You probably have something else already listening on port 443 TCP... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- itsme_sangamkr 路 2023-10-10 20:50 Honestly, I also think that the port mentioned in Caddy configuration is causing the issue. I should be using another port. But thought of taking community suggestions first馃槄 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy 路 2023-10-10 20:52 Yeah but without seeing your actual config we cant suggest much... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- itsme_sangamkr 路 2023-10-10 20:53 I鈥檝e updated the post. Please have a look at it馃檹 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy 路 2023-10-10 20:56 Yeah, doesnt help much. As i said, provide your setup. Caddy relies on configuration in a Caddyfile. Or better yet, ask where its appropriate. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Over-Advice6046 路 2023-10-11 03:55 Do you setup another reverse proxy? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- itsme_sangamkr 路 2023-10-11 03:56 Not yet. But I鈥檒l be using NGINX to setup SSL ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Over-Advice6046 路 2023-10-11 03:59 You can check the port used by typing sudo lsof -i -P -n And look the ports there My advice: i didnt use caddy but i think i read somewhere that caddy can used to setup ssl, so use it and dont use nginx. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- itsme_sangamkr 路 2023-10-11 13:28 Yeah thanks! It was already in use. I tried different port and it worked.
