Host and use another VPN on the same server? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cyber-neko · 2023-10-10 19:47 I hosted Wireguard on my home server so I can access things on the local network. The server is also doing torrenting so I’m thinking of using something like Surfshark VPN to mask the data. Is it possible to do so? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-10 20:08 Yes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digital_Voodoo · 2023-10-10 20:42 Not OP but : how? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Phynness · 2023-10-10 21:13 Docker. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- phein4242 · 2023-10-10 21:27 Via a mixture of routing, firewalling and NATting ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zoredache · 2023-10-10 21:29 There are many possible ways, at least on Linux. First it requires a strong understand of IP routing, and the advanced networking features in Linux. It also a requires a strong understanding of exactly how you want your network to work. Lots of solutions have been posted here and on the Internet. I offered one for a person last week. But I can't make any promises it will work for you since the details matter a lot. - https://www.reddit.com/r/WireGuard/comments/16yysck/comment/k3bjmci/ ?context=3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digital_Voodoo · 2023-10-10 21:36 Thank you so much for your detailed answer. I won't be trying it myself, I had a use case and found a workaround a few weeks ago. This is more of an curiosity and opportunity to learn. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok_Isopod_3239 · 2023-10-11 14:43 Some vpns allow routing. So that only specific programs use the vpn. If you set only the BitTorrent client to use it everyelse would work as if you haven´t connected to a vpn including your wireshark server. Or am I wrong?
