Potential Network Setup Advice reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SignificantSparrow · 2023-10-10 13:02 Would be lovely to get some feedback on this network setup plan I'm working on. I'm not super qualified on any of this but I've read up on seperating the network into VLANs and how that adds an additional security layer. Not sure if this is an overkill for what I want to achieve. Keeping in mind that I don't have any of this hardware on hand and would need toget both the switch and the wi-fi access point, so maybe at this point it's more trouble than its worth? Anyway any feedback or critique at all would be very helpful. https://i.imgur.com/MZRRWzf.jpg ---------------------------------------------------------------------- h311m4n000 · 2023-10-10 13:12 You can't have the same subnet on different vlans! i.e. you have vlan 1 through 4 all using the same subnet [192.168.1.0/24](https://192.168.1.0/24) you need a subnet per vlan, for example: vlan 1 = [192.168.1.0/24](https://192.168.1.0/24) vlan 2 = [192.168.2.0/24](https://192.168.2.0/24) And so on
