Email gateway / server? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheRealDave24 · 2023-10-10 10:48 Hi all, I have a number of containers which send out email updates. I'm wanting to have them all point to a single, internal gateway that I can then configure to an external smtp relay (likely O365 as I have an account already). Does such a thing exist? I'm sure it does, I just don't know what I'm searching for! Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-10-10 10:53 Yes, they are called MTAs and there are hundreds you can pick from. Some are FOSS some are licensed some are in between. A paid one is Proxmox Email Gateway for example. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-10 11:01 https://hub.docker.com/r/bytemark/smtp/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheRealDave24 · 2023-10-10 11:24 Thank you, I'll get searching! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheRealDave24 · 2023-10-10 11:25 Thank you. Looks like the 'smart host' function is what I need. I'll give it a go! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hdddanbrown · 2023-10-10 13:38 I used to run Proxmox Mail Gateway and it worked great but its probably overkill for your described setup. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zombiehoffa · 2023-10-10 13:39 IMHO, an easier/better solution I have used is [purelymail.com](https://purelymail.com). If you use your own domain you can create as many accounts as you want and it will all probably cost you 10 dollars a year all in. Then you can have separate addresses for each of your services (makes it really easy to filter incoming emails exactly where you want them) and you don't have to deal with the smtp relay, you just put the credentials for the container into the appropriate spot in your container. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- devzwf · 2023-10-10 15:45 check [https://hub.docker.com/r/loganmarchione/docker- postfixrelay](https://hub.docker.com/r/loganmarchione/docker- postfixrelay) simple efficient and easy ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-10 18:08 Works like a charm for me, i only set it to use my Gmail account, and then i can point any other containers at this smtp container to send mail through it.
