Postfix with Protonmail bridge for SMTP messages from docker containers? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jwu_gatech · 2023-10-10 06:08 As I understand, Protonmail* does not support SMTP without a business account (and even then, not all such accounts). From research, a possible workaround is to set up a mail relay with Postfix on the same machine as Protonmail Bridge. I haven't been able to get this working though, as I'm a bit new to mailservers and devops. I have tried following [this guide](https://www.romanbezlepkin.com/articles/protonmail-bridge-smtp- relay) but sending a test message from localhost 25 did not work (error opening sasl_password.db). If anyone has guidance on how to set something like this up or helpful documentation, please share. * Why Protonmail? Vendor lock-in, already have custom domain setup and such. Some background since I'm new here: throughout grad-school I've been self-hosting (plex, jitsi, jupyter,et al.) with no forethought. I now have a mess of KVM's dockers, and even dockers within KVM's and no reverse proxy. I'm looking to organize and dockerize everything - complete with SSO via Authentik. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-10 06:44 Why not ask the author of the guide?
