photos app that scans the storage for media

i sync my pictures (family) using an smb share and i organize the
files the way i like, i would like a self hosted app that can scan the
hard disk (similar to way jellyfin scans for media) and show the
pictures in an organized way (similar to google photos).

 i am not looking for any app the relies on its import mechanism.

Photoprism and Immich can do this. I would use Immich if you prefer
having an app to use it instead of a browser. I would use Photoprism
if you don't mind having an app and would rather have more features.

PiGallery2.  Very simple. Very very fast.

For simply coping files to folder and nothing else, PiGallery2 is much
better than Immich.

I like Immich, but it is too heavy for this. I just rsync the folder
and PiGallery just updates the page.
