Xbox or Onedrive sync reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- redditnoob_threeve · 2023-10-09 19:39 Microsoft just announced auto deletion of Xbox recordings/screenshots after 90 day periods. Anyone know of any containers that can pull those directly from Xbox (like GameDVR) or a Onedrive container that has "delete after download" logic built into it? For the direct Xbox download, it would preferably be a continuous download check and pull anything new. If it exists of course. For the Onedrive download and delete, it would pull the file somewhere else locally, and delete it out of the Onedrive sync. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-09 22:55 [rclone](https://rclone.org/) for onedrive, run a simple scheduled script to pull and delete. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- redditnoob_threeve · 2023-10-09 23:39 You know, I didn't even think of that. I forgot that technically Onedrive is a cloud provider which many backup solutions support. Thanks for shaking that loose for me! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Crazy-Hall8823 · 2023-10-10 05:34 Can you just save them to an external drive? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- redditnoob_threeve · 2023-10-10 06:03 You could, but if rather just upload to one drive and put on my server. I have plenty of space and they are going to be deleting stuff after 90 days. I think there are limitations on external drives in regards to sharing, and then the fact that the external drive has to be it's own NTFS drive. Can't even share the space with any drives that host games. Just feel like it's a cleaner solution to auto pull from Onedrive and have it easily accessible. I do have some cherished memories on there and they will only be cherished more as time goes on. So having a properly backed up solution is better for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Crazy-Hall8823 · 2023-10-10 07:02 I only say that because I'm literally in the process of trying to offload all my captures to an external hard drive like literally right now but having a cunt of a time because I can't get my hard drive formatted to NTFS. I'm curious on this rclone solution. Could you expand on that a bit more for me? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- redditnoob_threeve · 2023-10-10 20:27 Rclone works with a ton of cloud providers. So you would just connect it to one drive, have it copy the files over, and then have it delete the files off one drive. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Crazy-Hall8823 · 2023-10-10 22:20 Huh... sounds like an awesome solution. I'm gonna look into that. I nearly smashed my laptop a out 10 times trying to get a hard drive to work with my xbox. Ntfs can get fucked. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- redditnoob_threeve · 2023-10-10 22:49 NTFS is pretty easy so I don't know why it's giving you issues. You using Windows or Linux? Maybe the external case is screwy and the HDD is fine? Maybe try a different usb port? I've had both issues happen. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Crazy-Hall8823 · 2023-10-11 00:34 Seemed to be an issue with the hard drive I was using. Could do a usb no issue but not this hard drive.
