Snipe IT server reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ricketyfart · 2023-10-09 00:37 Hey all! I’m trying to spin up a SnipeIT server using Ubuntu, Apache2, php7.4, and MySQL. I had everything set and when I got to the end to check out the url I got this screen. Any ideas, or anything I can change out? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- msanangelo · 2023-10-09 00:57 Kinda hard to tell what's wrong if we can't see the URL or how you even set everything up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Searealelelele · 2023-10-09 01:01 Have u tried turning it off and on again ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AlternativeMath-1 · 2023-10-09 01:10 your apache config is screwed up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NomadCF · 2023-10-09 01:37 Might be as simple as is incorrect (or missing) DNS record. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ricketyfart · 2023-10-09 01:43 That’s what I’m tracing it back to currently. I have a manually set DNS. I’m just not sure we’re to add this into the config. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ricketyfart · 2023-10-09 01:43 Thanks, yeah I was able to discover that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ricketyfart · 2023-10-09 01:45 Def not wrong. But I also wansnt about to post an ip address on Reddit haha but it’s looking like it’s pointed towards dns/apache2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- msanangelo · 2023-10-09 01:47 Won't matter if it's a lan ip but that part isn't necessary. Just the bits after it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Self_conscious_gh0st · 2023-10-09 02:07 Is the first bookmark on the bookmark bar about aliens? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AlternativeMath-1 · 2023-10-09 02:19 OK good 👍 nginx is better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ricketyfart · 2023-10-09 02:25 While you’re not wrong I haven’t gone to deep down the server rabbit hole. Still a noob ahhaah. But I’m up and running. I forgot to rename one of the directories to match. 🤦‍♂️ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ricketyfart · 2023-10-09 02:26 Hahaha nah it is about a black hole. This is just a test account I have haha. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Stryker1-1 · 2023-10-09 04:13 Is apache listening on port 80? Or is snipe IT expecting an HTTPS connection on 443? Have you tried https:// ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AlternativeMath-1 · 2023-10-09 04:44 yeah so your HTTPD config is wrong - find the right one and fix it. Follow a guide, there is a step by step guide for any install. Coming to reddit is probably not helpful because only you can actually see the files. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bekar_vai · 2023-10-09 04:48 can you share the link for the first bookmark? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- iRustock · 2023-10-09 05:17 We can’t help if you don’t supply your webserver configs, or whatever guide and steps you followed. Refer to the snipe-it documentation for help, or provide more information. https://snipe-it.readme.io/docs/linuxosx ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ViaraiX · 2023-10-09 08:30 Server is running fine, it's a 404 error... e.g. no index and directory listing disabled. (Or specific file/directory in url don't exist) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CountParadox · 2023-10-09 10:01 There's a turnkey snipe image I think ---------------------------------------------------------------------- blind_guardian23 · 2023-10-09 10:13 Setup a vserver for your domain. Otherwise you will end up in default vserver. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sk1nT7 · 2023-10-09 10:37 May use docker. https://github.com/Haxxnet/Compose-Examples/blob/main/examples/snipe- it/docker-compose.yml ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ricketyfart · 2023-10-09 14:00 https://phys.org/news/2018-11-black-hole.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ricketyfart · 2023-10-09 14:02 Thanks all. This is all set. Total noob moment. I didn’t rename the document root to match in my Apache2 config. She’s all set 🥲 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- phein4242 · 2023-10-09 15:59 Hard to say without additional troubleshooting and inspecting the configuration. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JakeSully-Navi · 2023-10-09 16:32 If it wasn't listening on port 80 or 443 it wouldn't give you any Not Found page xD it says in footer Apache2. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JakeSully-Navi · 2023-10-09 16:33 How is your apache2 config? You know you can create multiple virtual host configuration for each domain so they will load given path/folder that is set in the config file.
