Rclone alternatives reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ceefaxer · 2023-10-08 20:22 I have little to know command line skills and rclone just isn't working for me. Is there an alternative that may be easy for me to use. I just want to have some cloud storage accessible as a mount on my mac mini I use as a server so that I can use it for access for software like roon, kodi etc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-10-08 20:48 That's an extremely vague question since you fail to mention what cloud storage you mean. Also what did you try with recline and what didn't work? There are other fuse drivers for GDrive and other cloud storage but k doubt there are "easier" to set up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Legitimate_Farm_3095 · 2023-10-08 20:57 i'm not scared of the command line but chatgpt (or other ai) is great for things like this ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rocketsx12 · 2023-10-08 21:04 https://github.com/kapitainsky/RcloneBrowser ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ceefaxer · 2023-10-08 21:17 this sorted me out in the short term, I just cant be doing it for everything I might want to do. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ceefaxer · 2023-10-08 21:18 thanks, i'll take a look. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- opensrcdev · 2023-10-08 21:26 What's wrong with rclone? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -SPOF · 2023-10-08 22:09 Look at Cyberduck [https://cyberduck.io/](https://cyberduck.io/). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xkcd__386 · 2023-10-09 03:35 > little to know command line skills sorry I'm in a crabby mood today but I have to say it's not just command line skills that are the problem downvotes welcome; I deserve them for this ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PaddyStar · 2023-10-09 06:05 Write your code and what you would like to do and someone would help you. Rclone is rock solid / Restic also ;-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 8-16_account · 2023-10-09 07:39 Command line skills for Rclone? It's literally just a couple of lines to install it like everything else, and the setup process is fully guided ---------------------------------------------------------------------- homemediajunky · 2023-10-09 11:41 I no what you mean. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Patient-Tech · 2023-10-09 19:59 The lack of details / specifics is very difficult to help you. Especially in this forum where a majority of the people here use rclone for years without issue. Try posting your cli string and what you’re trying to do (not with passwords shown or specific ip’s) and there’s likely someone here that can help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ceefaxer · 2023-10-13 22:08 well its not really. For instance i didnt know remote: in the command line meant change it to 'theactualnameofyourfuckingremote:' and not remote:path/to/files sooo there you go. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ceefaxer · 2023-10-13 22:14 well there you go. I have no idea what a cli string is. With some jiggery pokery in chatgpt I can now see what its doing, have it running, and still would like an alternative, but I'll find it myself. I think its quite specific. I didnt want to use rclone as I dont know what I'm doing. Is their something similar for stupid people. I have it working, Its going to be a nightmare everytime i ever have to use terminal so wanted something else. I'll find my advice eleswhere, rather than this hell hole. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ceefaxer · 2023-10-13 22:16 nothing. I have no understanding of command line, so everytime I want to do something I take an hour reading what I need to do, then failing at what i need to do. It's not the program, its my knowledge of how to use these things. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2023-10-24 00:44 [deleted]
