What server to use for MP3 files reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SzKristof1 · 2023-10-08 15:46 Hi! I have a Raspberry Pi 4 with 2 gb ram, and I want to run a media server, where my family members can download music in mp3 files, but still stream them from the server. I just need this solution for my home network, there is no need for remote access. What I need is the option to power off the server when we are not using it. My router doesn't support DLNA. Thanks for any further help! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Conscious-Fault-8800 · 2023-10-08 16:02 Navidrome could work for you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CrispyBegs · 2023-10-08 16:17 navidrome or plex ---------------------------------------------------------------------- End-i · 2023-10-08 16:31 Navidrome is the best choice for free. Plex/Plexamp won’t let you download if you don’t have a subscription (plex pass) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-10-08 17:03 mpd + a client https://www.musicpd.org/clients/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hardypart · 2023-10-08 17:19 If all your MP3s have proper ID3 tags, yes... Such a shame that there's no folder navigation! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- puppetjazz · 2023-10-08 18:00 Jellyfin would work ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bombero_kmn · 2023-10-08 19:29 Jellyfin + Symfonium is excellent in my experience ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ScribeOfGoD · 2023-10-08 19:54 You can pay a one time mobile app fee on the device itself I think ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snk4ever · 2023-10-09 05:22 Ampache. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- reklis · 2023-10-09 16:09 Finamp is pretty decent on iOS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SzKristof1 · 2023-10-10 04:57 Unfortunately, there are no tags, just in a few files (maybe 1 in 100 has it). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hardypart · 2023-10-10 10:36 Same here, that's why Navidrome is not a viable solution for me.
