Can you run SpotDL (web) in a Docker container? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zestyclose_Car1088 · 2023-10-06 14:47 or is the docker image just for CLI use? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- waeking · 2023-10-06 15:11 https://spotdl.github.io/spotify-downloader/installation/#docker-setup ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zestyclose_Car1088 · 2023-10-06 15:16 But can you run the web part from the docker? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- waeking · 2023-10-06 15:43 Another idea would be to create a docker file with the prebuilt executable Anything is possible. Create a Dockerfile and follow the "Build for source" part of the [readme](https://github.com/spotDL/web- ui/blob/master/README.md). You can use [https://github.com/spotDL/spotify- downloader/blob/master/Dockerfile](https://github.com/spotDL/spotify- downloader/blob/master/Dockerfile) as an example to get you started. Another idea would be to create a docker file with the prebuilt executable [release](https://github.com/spotDL/spotify- downloader/releases). From the [docs](https://spotdl.github.io/spotify- downloader/installation/#using-prebuilt-executable) it looks like the web ui is available by default. When you get things to work properly, a courteous help, is to create a pull request with a working Dockerfile. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zestyclose_Car1088 · 2023-10-06 15:49 It looks like there isn't an official way to self host it yet-> `selfhost coming soon` But I was wondering if someone has already found a way to make it run in a container? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-10-06 16:26 Apparently the webui starts as a default when not passing any arguments. So the docker should have it already. Take a look the "Dockerfile", find the entrypoint script, see what the container starts as a default, adapt to your needs. Build image. Run it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zestyclose_Car1088 · 2023-10-06 18:24 Sounds simple in theory... but how do I get the web UI to run? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-10-06 18:35 In theory you just have to expose the port to the outside and it should be reachable, I have to try when I am home... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zestyclose_Car1088 · 2023-10-06 18:45 ```yaml version: "2.1" services: spotdl: container\_name: spotdl image: spotdl/spotify-downloader:nightly restart: unless-stopped command: web --host "0.0.0.0" --keep-alive --web-use-output-dir ports: \- 8800:8800 ``` ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zestyclose_Car1088 · 2023-10-06 18:47 Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-10-06 21:27 Cool, probably you should bind mount a local volume into the container so the downloads appear in your filesystem and not in the image. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Street_Mushroom8216 · 2023-10-19 14:50 Thanks you so much. I created a docker with nicegUI which calls spotdl in background, but this solution is better. This is how I use it: docker run -d --name spotdlweb -v \[YOUR\_HDD\_PATH\]:/root/.spotdl/web/sessions --restart always -p 8877:8877 spotdl/spotify-downloader:v4.2.1 web --host 0.0.0.0 --port 8877 --keep-alive
