Recommendations for a document scanner direct to NAS etc reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HarmlessSaucer · 2023-10-06 12:16 Does anyone have any recommendations for a document scanner that can scan directly to a NAS or similar storage solution locally? None of this Dropbox / Google Drive nonsense! Really looking for something simple that I can pop out and scan things the kids bring home or we get through the post, then hopefully use Paperless etc. I know I COULD setup an old scanner with a Raspberry Pi and some scripting but I’m just wondering what experience people have had? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-10-06 12:45 paperless-ngx has an app that will take pictures and upload them or SwiftScan on iOS too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HarmlessSaucer · 2023-10-06 12:55 Ooh that’s interesting! Hadn’t considered that! Thanks for the recommendations I’ll check those out! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-10-06 13:14 With paperless-ngx you gain a lot more than simply scanning, its worth to check it out. I've been using it since a few months and it has improved my paperwork enormously. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Toutanus · 2023-10-06 15:02 I have a Ricoh printer that can do that : SP 220snw I can chose to scan directly on a nas share and it works great. The directory is scanned every hour for new documents and everything is compressed and moved in the paperless-ng consume directory. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ______-_-_________ · 2023-10-06 15:22 I was also going to say paperless-ngx. You can scan directly to it. Automatically saves it and converts it to a searchable document. I've moved all of my documents to paperless-ngx. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kmisterk · 2023-10-06 17:28 ## Post Removed Hey, HarmlessSaucer!
