Legacy Windows Update solution reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- No_Dragonfruit_5882 · 2023-10-05 16:59 Hey Guys, currently setup a new Backup for our Company Servers using pbs and pve for all types of Linux Vms and PCs. Now i got a small Problem backing up 2 Windows Baremetal. One is Win10 updated (which is obv not a Problem) and a Windows 7 non Updated. Tried Ubackup so far and sadly i can not install the client on the Windows 7. Any ideas on how i could pull Backups in this Situation? Deduplication would be great aswell Thanks for your help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-10-05 17:21 Veeam. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Available-Pepper4471 · 2023-10-05 17:34 It must have SP1 to be supported. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bagaudin · 2023-10-05 23:35 I reckon you're familiar with our products already, hence I may suggest two options: 1. Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office - but it will [require SP1 to be installed](https://www.acronis.com/en- us/support/documentation/ATI2024/#40808.html) at least. 2. Acronis Cyber Protect 15 - it [supports](https://www.acronis.com/en- us/support/documentation/AcronisCyberProtect_15/#agents.html) all editions [but requires ESU and 2 other KBs to be installed](https://kb.acronis.com/content/69302). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- txmail · 2023-10-06 02:05 Can you just use the built in Windows 7 system backup to create an image on a network drive? From there your options are endless, If you do not have access to a de-duplicating file system then you might want to look at Borg which can do chunk based deduplication. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- brianly · 2023-10-06 18:10 Does that require Windows 7 to restore? You might be better off using a sync tool that treats everything as files. That way restores will be easier from modern machines. Otherwise this is a good solution.
