Matrix Synapse how use python scripts? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- misteralter · 2023-10-05 13:33 Subj ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EndlessHiway · 2023-10-05 15:31 What? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-05 16:25 We are not your Google Search assistants. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- misteralter · 2023-10-05 17:47 I found that these scripts are called modules. All that remains is to find in the documentation how to connect this, but I think it’s already clear where to look.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- misteralter · 2023-10-05 17:55 You are unlikely to help me with Google Search, because everything it gives me relates to Synapse by Microsoft. And exactly zero information from its output relates to Synapse from Matrix. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-05 18:15 Funny, when i search your exact post title in incognito Google Search, i get all sorts of results related to the Matrix chat server project, python scripts, and both together. Cant see any mention at all of microsoft. Good luck! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- misteralter · 2023-10-05 18:26 Cool! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-05 18:27 Very! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hdddanbrown · 2023-10-05 18:41 Good thing the lazy low effort rule here never gets used. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EndlessHiway · 2023-10-05 19:48 Doesn't seem like any of them get used. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EndlessHiway · 2023-10-05 19:50 What? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hdddanbrown · 2023-10-05 20:34 They all get used, but at random. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EndlessHiway · 2023-10-05 21:36 Keeps things exciting I guess. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kmisterk · 2023-10-06 17:31 Thanks for your submission on selfhosted, misteralter. here at /r/selfhosted, we want to make sure everyone gets their chance to try out self-hosting their apps. It's a lot of information, and we are ready to help! However, it doesn't look like you tried very hard to look up options or solutions on your own. For future reference, please try and link to or list what you've already tried, and give some specifics about the issue or project you're coming across so we can help you help yourself as efficiently as possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- misteralter · 2023-10-06 17:44 I'm trying to make sure that users can't write to each other. I googled this: https://github.com/matrix-org/synapse/issues/7073 There is a spam.py script with which it is not clear what to do and apparently this solves my problem Then I googled that this spam.py is located in Mjolnir, where it is something like an implementation of the synapse antispam module. Then I found in the documentation how to connect these modules, but from the example I cannot understand how to connect a specific file. In addition to the class name, you also need to specify something else when connecting, but I still don’t understand where to get this information from. https://github.com/matrix- org/mjolnir/blob/main/synapse\_antispam/mjolnir/antispam.py ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kmisterk · 2023-10-06 17:49 Okay, so, why did you not add all this to the OP? You'd have likely gotten a lot more helpful replies in the first place. I unfortunately am unsure about the solution for your concern, but if you update your OP, others may be able to chime in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- misteralter · 2023-10-06 17:52 Thanks! Fixed OP-post.
