nginx resolv.conf is pointing to my pihole's IP reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Deses · 2023-10-04 22:05 I'm still trying to open my setup to the internet, I followed IBRACORP guides and many others, and I always reach the same outcome: 502 errors. I'm using duckdns. I realized that my nginx resolv.conf file it's pointing to mi pihole, where I did try to set A and CNAME records but I keep getting the 502 errors. ``` A -> myserver.duckdns.org CNAME -> heimdall.myserver.duckdns.org ``` What am I doing wrong? Where should resolv.conf point to? What if I bite the bullet and buy a domain? Where should it point then? At this point I think that's my issue, because I'm doing everything else exactly like the guides say and it's getting frustrating. Thank you for your help! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- flaming_m0e · 2023-10-04 22:24 Not sure why you think your server pointing to your correct DNS server is somehow causing issues. Your server's DNS resolution has nothing to do with opening the server to the internet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Deses · 2023-10-05 00:11 Then I'm at a complete loss why I keep getting error 502. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wally40 · 2023-10-05 00:31 Could you give more info? Where are the clients that are getting 502, within the same network or external? Have you set up the sub domains with duckdns? Does nginx have both domains set up? Can you get to myserver.duckdns.org or neither? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- flaming_m0e · 2023-10-05 01:11 >IBRACORP So I had never heard of this before...I had to go look it up. HOLY SHIT ARE THEY CHEESY AF! I could never take anything they say seriously after that video on their home page.
