Need help with my routing reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PMFRTT ยท 2023-10-04 20:20 Hey there Reddit, I've had a power-outage today and afterwards, my internet was down. After troubleshooting for many hours, I discovered my default-route wasn't working correctly. I've tried everything to no avail, so now I'm turning to you. My default route is the following: 0.0.0.0/0 via 192.168.178.1 The gateway is reachable from all clients on the network. Pinging 8.8.8.8 does not work and I do not see traffic going over the interface using tcpdump. Out of curiosity I created the following route: 8.8.8.8/32 via 192.168.178.1 Same gateway and all of a sudden, the address 8.8.8.8 (but only this one) is reachable. As a workaround, I now have these 2 routes: 0.0.0.0/1 via 192.168.178.1 128.0.0.0/1 via 192.168.178.1 This seems to work for now but is not ideal. My "router" is running on Ubuntu 23.04 and has been stable for over a year until now. Does anyone have an idea, why my default route does not work? Any help is appreciated!
