Lychee Alternatives reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DocRobertz · 2023-10-04 15:20 I saw Lychee would be a good thing to use to host my brother's photography portfolio for clients. However, the package appears to be outdated to 2017. Is there a more current alternative? Not looking for a backup solution, just something to host the portfolio. Currently using Photoshow but not a big fan of it ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Legitimate_Farm_3095 · 2023-10-04 15:27 search the sub: photo storage, google photos alternative, etc. you'll find many many many threads about the exact subject. this comes up multiple times a week ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DocRobertz · 2023-10-04 15:32 I searched photo management and didn’t see anything to helpful. But I’ll try those, thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Cobthecobbler · 2023-10-04 16:00 From the subreddit "about" page https://github.com/awesome-selfhosted/awesome-selfhosted#photo-and- video-galleries ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DocRobertz · 2023-10-04 16:01 Thank you!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sheeH1Aimufai3aishij · 2023-10-04 16:59 I highly recommend Immich. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- that_one_wierd_guy · 2023-10-04 18:36 isn't immich still beta? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- computerhero1337 · 2023-10-04 19:54 I use Piwigo for my clients. It's pretty solid. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Beaniestalk · 2023-10-04 20:10 This is what I'd look into for any professional usage. Piwigo has been around for a long time, has seen a lot of usage in different settings and should be tried and tested well enough at this point. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- freedomlinux · 2023-10-05 06:23 > However, the package appears to be outdated to 2017 Which package? Lychee has been releasing frequently recently (ex: 2 weeks ago) but it generally distributing in Docker or a ZIP / git clone of PHP files https://lycheeorg.github.io/docs/#installation All you really need is a LAMP server and the manual installation is "fine". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- edwardcactus · 2023-10-05 16:10 Can you make password protected albums to share to clients? Currently using nextcloud but really don't like it. Tried piwigo some time ago and couldn't get it running... if you can password protect albums it'd be worth me working through the issues to get it up ---------------------------------------------------------------------- computerhero1337 · 2023-10-05 18:01 So far I know, you can create accounts for your customer and give them access to Albums. In user management you can set username, random password, email and then automatic send a mail with these credentials. Maybe there is a plugin to create a share with only password but this I would not recommend.
