Hi,


Title is pretty much self-explainatory. I want to host service that
works like Filen/Internxt/Tresorit. My VPS provider is kinda skeechy
and also I want to avoid rclone crypt, cryptomator etc. because I want
host stuff for my family.

Crypto is hard, and the chance of doing it wrong is high if you dont
know what you are doing. For starters, why host something with a
hoster that you dont trust?

I researched this space last year. At the time, a lot of start-ups
were offering these services, but I could not find anything durable
and open source at the time. IIRC the only solution that offered data
at rest encryption as well as proper crypto for transit was
[SFTPGO](https://github.com/drakkan/sftpgo). But I shied away from it
because it’s still under pretty active development.

Most of the pastebins and many of the web based file uploaders claim
client side encryption

Jirafeu has server encryption but only stores the decryption key in
the url returned to the user so someone on the server cant just
decrypt whats there (post-hoc at least)
