Audiobookshelf or Plex + Bookcamp.app reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- manofoz · 2023-10-04 02:19 Hello, I am planning on setting up a self hosted autdiobook / podcast (maybe) service and I've found a couple of options that look appealing. I have never used either of these and was hoping someone had. Audiobookshelf or Plex + [Bookcamp.app](https://Bookcamp.app) are the two I've found, open to other suggestions. Audiobookshelf looks to have an app that you can access through testflight if you get invited to the beta. I l ike the idea of having a fancy fronent for Plex for audiobooks so I get stats in Tautulli but the reviews say bookcamp has a monthly subscription which is crazy since Plex even has a one time lifetime membership. I think I will try audiobookshelf, going to hit their discord to see what's up with this TestFlight beta. My media is organized like \`/mediaroot/Author/Book/Parts (n).mp3\` which seems to work alright but it did not detect any Series. So on my own I have the folders structured from readarr's. This resulted in a bunch of missing things that I deleted and then I did another rescan for good measure. I checked all the boxes to match stuff, it's using google for it's source. Used that app the entire time I had audiobooks on Plex. It’s a fantastic app with the option for a small one-time purchase. I'll check it out. I got Audiobookshelf set up, wasn't too bad, but it's nice to have one Plex account to access everything. Not sure if I can use Authentik or something with Audiobookshelf and Kavita for that matter to let people log in w/ their plex accounts. I was able to do that with wordpress but wordpress supports everything.
