SSL Container for already hosted nginx container. reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Particular-Order4374 · 2023-10-03 12:04 Hello members, I have hosted an application on a Dedicated Machine that I bought off the internet. I have hosted an issue/project tracking platform called [Plane](https://github.com/makeplane/plane) . It spun up like 9 containers, one for each job which is fine and I was able to deploy it using \`docker-compose\`. Now I have to setup SSL Certificate and I am confused about what should the solution look like? 1. Should I spin another container for Certbot as a micro service ? 2. Should I edit the code inside the "proxy" container provided by the repository setting up the certificates and nginx.conf file? 3. Run another nginx on the host machine to route the traffic. These are the stuff I want to know about: 1. What is the best solution in terms of scalability and ease-of-setup 2. How would the routing look like ? 3. How does the port mapping work in this case ? (443 & 80) Thanks is advance ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TBT_TBT · 2023-10-03 14:46 Just spin up another container for https://nginxproxymanager.com as a proxy server and put it in front of the webserver container of Plane. It will get Let‘s Encrypt SSL and renew them.
