Easy to host self-hosted git with email issue tracker/patches support? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- XzwordfeudzX · 2023-10-03 11:34 Hey! I would like to start self-hosting my git repos. To make sure anyone can contribute without an account, I'd like to set up a email based workflow with mailing lists. However, I'm trying to understand what the best easy-to-self-host alternative is. Sourcehut would fit the bill in terms of features but it's still in alpha and the self-hosting documentation is very sparse. Does anyone have any recommendations? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jkirkcaldy · 2023-10-03 11:50 Gitea? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zarlo5899 · 2023-10-03 11:52 gitlab ---------------------------------------------------------------------- XzwordfeudzX · 2023-10-03 12:29 Doesn't seem to support it (https://github.com/go- gitea/gitea/issues/13442) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- phein4242 · 2023-10-04 10:43 What options did you already research? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- XzwordfeudzX · 2023-10-04 11:05 Well now I've googled around quite a bit. It seems that gitolite with either gitweb or cgit and then installing mailman on a separate server is the best way to go. I was just hoping there was something a bit easier to set up (like single command like gitea). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GenderNeutralBot · 2023-10-04 11:05 Hello. Instead of **mailman**, use **mail carrier**, **letter carrier** or **postal worker**. Thank you very much. ^(I am a bot. Downvote to remove this comment.
