Picked up this sweet USB-C Ultra wide 10"...now what? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fusiondust · 2023-10-03 02:15 So, I bought this USB-C Ultra wide 10" touchscreen monitor (micro usb ports, usb3, usb-c and hdmi inputs, etc... easily found anywhere) It works remarkably well. I was excited to try with the Alienware using only USB-C port, works perfectly. Same wiith surface pro 7. On to the RPi4 - perfectly. Tried a few Android Audio distros - not so good experience...clearly wrong aspect ratio. Inlaw has an Asus laptop with the touchscreen LCD monitor trackpad thing...absolutely impossible to find some alternative software. What is the genre of software this would be called? Like the touch screen strip on a Mac? Yeah, I can drag a bunch or icons over onto it and turn on single click sis white windows. Thought of Rainmeter or even leaving Outlook on one side, Teams on the other. It looks fitting below the Dell ultrawide and I would love to make it a bit more useful. I'm thinking maybe RPi4 set to Kiosk mode and point to a HomeAssistant from Docker or something? I haven't started using it yet. It could be a nice interface for lighting/heating/homesecurity maybe, or something to show notifications from ... this is just a toy and I could probably find a more useful waste of time? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-10-03 03:16 > Jellyfin: Help we need developers!
