What are good self hosted picture library viewer in 2023

I have a Synology NAS and run container manager for some things.
Looking for a decent picture viewer to selfhost. I haven't tested
synology photos yet but what are alternatives you guys can recommend?

If it has the option to pick a random folder and view the pictures
inside of it, that would be great.

Does it have a mobile app?
Does it have docker documentations?

Photoprism and Immich are the top ones IMO. Immich is the only one
with an app though. They both have AI things like face recognition
which is nice but might not perform well on a synology since they
typically have low end CPUs. (You can disable the face recognition
though I'm pretty sure)

I remember reading about features like off-site face recognition and
possibly other tech that I'm not familiar with.

Actually I think that may be true. I remember hearing that you could
run it on another PC. I wonder how easy that would be

I created a PHP web app that can access any folder the user chooses.
Then app displays the photos small or large. You could create a
database with links to the photo. the database could have more info
then just links for user to search. I mine on separate server that can
accessed via Tailscale 100.x.x.x ip's You don't even a  Synology NAS
server.

With latest Immich version you can create a library based on existing
folder(s) and then browse/view it in the browser or the official
mobile app.
