K3s Dynamic IPv6 reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ProfessionalAd3026 · 2023-10-02 22:25 Hey, I recently set up k3s. I missed the part that dual-stack needs to be enabled from the [start](https://docs.k3s.io/installation/network- options?_highlight=ipv6#dual-stack-ipv4--ipv6-networking). I'm considering recreating it. I'm migrating from docker-compose. My IPv6 address is rotating. I run a FritzBox as a router, and prefix delegation seems to be broken by my ISP. What do I create the service and pod range with? ULA addresses? How are they going to address the IPv6 internet? If I get the prefix delegation to work, how would I renumber the ranges? I need to have a single IPv6 address reachable to provide native IPv6 connectivity. The current setup drops v6 traffic to node ports. I thought about patching the metallb I pool dynamically by listening for ipv6 subnet changes on the node. Alternatively, I can just use a node port. Any hints? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RogerSik · 2023-11-09 07:32 My Solution was to use ``` hostNetwork: true ``` in the traefik pod. So it will use the ipv6 address of the vm (with nodeselector so ensure that it gets always attached to the same vm / ipv6). But I would also prefer to have a solution with metallb. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fat-t0ny · 2023-11-18 08:46 Thank you so much, i was on the brink of giving up
