Looking for an alternative for WikiJS that works offline reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheZadok42 · 2023-10-02 14:40 I recently tried to deploy wikijs on my offline environment (I have no proxy to access the internet, it is fully offline) and it was a terrible experience. I am looking for a wiki service that can be 1. Self hosted in an offline environment 2. Have some form of authentication 3. Have a virtual editor 4. Sync its data to git My goal is to create a wiki for me team, and using ci/cd pipelines, join multiple docs repo to one ---------------------------------------------------------------------- StefanMcL-Pulseway2 · 2023-10-02 15:00 Check out DokuWiki, Doesnt need a a database so it's easy to set up and has a plugin to sync your data to a git repository ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hdddanbrown · 2023-10-02 17:39 I have used Wikijs for a while completely offline and dont remember any specific issues with that. What was your terrible experience exactly? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- edvauler · 2023-10-02 23:09 hmm, what exactly was your "terrible experience"? I use Wikijs in a docer container on a separate server, which has no internet-connection and have no issue. Afaik there is no need for a internet-connection to get it work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- adamshand · 2023-10-02 23:31 Check out Gollum. It's simple, but should meet all your requirements. https://github.com/gollum/gollum ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheZadok42 · 2023-10-03 04:54 Sideloading the localization didn’t work, my titles looked like a reference rather than an actual title (start.menu), the pages didn’t render and a lot of menus didn’t work ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheZadok42 · 2023-10-03 04:54 Sideloading the localization didn’t work, my titles looked like a reference rather than an actual title (start.menu), the pages didn’t render and a lot of menus didn’t work ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hdddanbrown · 2023-10-03 21:06 Hmm weird, i would have noticed that of course. Might be worth to report it to the devs.
