[gluetun] How to bind qbittorrent (not in a container) reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AntonioKarot · 2023-09-30 14:04 I saw that the wiki explains how to make docker containers go though gluetun, but I'm not sure how I could do this with non-dockerized programs. AFAIK, there is no docker container for qbittorrent that gives access to the native UI (correct me if I'm wrong). So I have to use the non- dockerized version of it (to have access to the native UI). I want to use the qbittorrent UI to create torrents for example (not possible remotely on any torrent client, to my current knowledge). I tried setting `HTTPPROXY=on` and exposing the port 8888, but I don't see gluetun in the list of interfaces in qbittorrent. Could someone guide me on how to do so ? I want qbittorrent and only qbittorrent to go though gluetun. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- desqviewX · 2023-09-30 14:20 Why not just use a locally installed version to create your torrent and host them in a dockerized version? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- geo38 · 2023-09-30 14:25 What OS is qbittorrent and docker running on? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-09-30 14:51 Why not keep it simple and just use a tool meant for it: https://pyrocore.readthedocs.io/en/latest/usage.html#mktor https://github.com/pobrn/mktorrent/wiki https://linux.die.net/man/1/transmission-create ---------------------------------------------------------------------- emprahsFury · 2023-09-30 16:20 Think you should set the shadowsocks proxy instead of the http one ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AntonioKarot · 2023-09-30 18:02 debian 12 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AntonioKarot · 2023-09-30 18:03 because the files are on the server running qbittorrent and not somewhere else. Or is there a way to create torrent files from sftp or something ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AntonioKarot · 2023-09-30 18:04 is there a way to use one of these tools with sftp or a similar protocol ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-09-30 18:11 How would that work? SFTP is a filetransfer protocol. How would it create a torrent, or execute a program that then creates a torrent? Simply install one of them on your host, then execute it over SSH. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AntonioKarot · 2023-09-30 18:13 yea I see, that could work indeed
