Self Hosting behind in an apartment. reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ItsJoeyG · 2023-09-29 20:50 Hello all, I want to self host a small personal service on a raspberry pi, but I can't port forward because my apartment's ISP does not allow it. Are there any good tunneling services for this (preferably ones that have easy code integration through a package or api)? All my service is doing is recording my laptop's geo-location to a database on the pi. Thus, privacy and automation are important for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- realorangeone · 2023-09-29 21:02 You can easily build your own with Wireguard and a VPS, no 3rd-party needed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anejey · 2023-09-29 21:05 Look into Tailscale. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vangoss05 · 2023-09-29 21:49 [https://github.com/mochman/Bypass\_CGNAT](https://github.com/mochman/ Bypass_CGNAT) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fester113 · 2023-09-29 22:13 Cloudflare Tunnels ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bobbarker4444 · 2023-09-29 22:41 If you want something super quick and easy, Cloudflare Tunnels is probably the best ---------------------------------------------------------------------- compuwar · 2023-09-29 23:09 Tailscale or Zerotier. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2023-09-29 23:29 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TripletStorm · 2023-09-29 23:49 aws s3 cp thegeo.log s3://my-bucket ---------------------------------------------------------------------- notdoreen · 2023-09-30 00:59 Tailscale or cliudflare tunnels ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SwimmingSensitive125 · 2023-09-30 06:57 do you mean a software kind of ngrok? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MistiInTheStreet · 2023-09-30 13:23 You should get your own domain, 3eur per year if you get a .ovh domain. Then you can use this service: https://www.cloudflare.com/products/tunnel/ That’s pretty easy to configure and that can allow you to expose your http services with cloudflare protection. Another nice alternative is https://github.com/rapiz1/rathole but you need to have your own VPS. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- slyzik · 2023-09-30 14:55 claudflare tunnel, difference from tailscale/headcale is that you dont need a client to connect, so you can share itnto anyone like would you have a public ip. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- astutesnoot · 2023-09-30 20:49 Plus you get free and automatic SSL, which might be a bit less impressive in a world with Let's Encrypt, but it's still pretty seamless to setup with Tunnels. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ox450x6c · 2023-10-03 16:07 xray ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ProffesionalAds · 2023-10-06 15:45 Add Netmaker on the list as well. Its a decent option for selfhosting which is a lot quicker the Tailscale.
