Inxidents, a minimal health monitoring app with alerts and real-time dashboard in Go reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aproposnix · 2023-09-28 18:51 Getting a 404 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- niceman1212 · 2023-09-28 19:03 Same ---------------------------------------------------------------------- el_piqo · 2023-09-28 19:54 Im assuming these comments said that it was giving a 404. I forgot to set the repo to public. 🤦‍♂️ It's public now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- niceman1212 · 2023-09-28 20:07 Yep it did. Works now, thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- niceman1212 · 2023-09-28 21:06 I checked it out and it looks really good. What I especially like is that the targets are configurable via yaml which fits well for my usecase. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- el_piqo · 2023-09-28 21:17 Very happy to hear :), let me know if you encounter some issue or if you see an important feature missing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ASouthernBoy · 2023-09-28 23:38 This is not a "health" monitoring app. Its uptime monitoring app or online monitoring or something along those lines. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- honest-teorema · 2023-09-29 05:47 Thanks for the feedback, what would a health monitoring app do? Isnt uptime considered part of the "health"? This is MVP and I plan to add more small features that perform more checks (like whether response contains certain string) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- el_piqo · 2023-09-29 05:51 Thanks for the feedback, what would a health monitoring app do instead, genuine question? Isnt uptime considered part of the "health"? That's not an opinion . ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WarHawk8080 · 2023-09-29 15:50 This might work...but Netdata can sometimes be a CPU/Memory hog https://learn.netdata.cloud/docs/installing ---------------------------------------------------------------------- javijuji · 2023-09-29 18:08 What are the benefits compared to Uptime-Kuma? Been using it for ever and it seems very complete and nice looking. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- el_piqo · 2023-10-09 20:55 I'd say inxidents is much simpler and more dev-centric (as of now 180 lines of Go code, one simple config file) no dependencies, and quite hackable for go enthusiasts. The dashboard is also a bit different, inxidents dashboard is to serve as an visual alert and be seen from far away when a service goes down (think office wall monitors)
