Open-Source Airtable alternative with all features? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Independent_Hyena495 · 2023-09-28 07:50 I know the common suspects like baserow and co, but they all miss half the features (ACL, RBAC, Groups, user management or whatever) But is there a real alternative? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Astorek86 · 2023-09-28 08:24 [NocoDB](https://nocodb.com/) advertises itself as a "Open Source Airtable Alternative". To be honest, I can't say much about it, because I never used Airtable. I mostly just played around with NocoDB a bit. At the moment, NocoDB needs to be self-hosted. Devs doesn't provide a "Cloud-Server" at the moment, but it's on the Roadmap. I know that NocoDB has User Management, but I don't know how complex it is... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ephoras · 2023-09-28 08:47 Nocodb is the closest in terms of features. It’s also quite good at importing Airtable tables via access token. Since the Airtable price hike is just around the corner I was also evaluating tools and Nico is by far the best in my opinion. Also extremely easy to setup ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PunyDev · 2023-09-28 12:06 I replaced Airtable with Grist: https://github.com/gristlabs/grist-core However you need SSO configured to use most of the functions. Quite a bit of access controls. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Independent_Hyena495 · 2023-09-28 12:07 Can you pull data in a field from an API? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- probablyjustpaul · 2023-09-28 13:56 An issue I had with nocodb was the lack of SSO in their "community edition". Moreover, there was a community initiative to add it (PR was made) and the devs rejected it and locked the feature request. That kinda soured me on the program, that they want to keep certain features premium only so badly that they'll reject community submitted patches. Doesn't give me a lot of optimism about the future openness of the project. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- probablyjustpaul · 2023-09-28 14:02 An issue I had with nocodb was the lack of SSO in their "community edition". When did you start migrating again? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- probablyjustpaul · 2023-12-12 04:32 Are you implying I'm associated with grist?
