Selfhosted speedtest service with Web interface to measure LAN speed from various devices reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BerlinCrawl · 2023-09-27 21:12 I would like to host a speedtest service in my network that can be used via web interface. I have a number of access points and repeaters and some WiFi/network issues: some devices in some places sometimes have bad connectivity. I've been relying on public speed tests, but those introduce one further potential problem: the internet connection. I need to use some web UI, because it's the only true multiplatform thing that I can run on all the devices. Do you know anything like this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- speculatrix · 2023-09-27 21:33 If it weren't for the web interface requirement, then iperf3 would be ideal. https://www.tecmint.com/test-network-throughput-in-linux/ Perhaps you can wrapper it in a cgi-bin script? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Firestarter321 · 2023-09-27 21:40 Check out OpenSpeedTest. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- siedenburg2 · 2023-09-27 22:13 LibreSpeed or openspeedtest are options that also work like speedtest org ---------------------------------------------------------------------- boli99 · 2023-09-28 00:15 [librespeed](https://github.com/librespeed/speedtest) works well. be careful if you let anyone else other than you use it - people love to run speedtests when things feel slow, ...and then the speedtest slows down the connection for other people, and the other people immediately start running speedtests (which slows everything down even further) ...and then they all complain about how things are running slowly.
