Big shout to the team who created HomePage: Love their work! reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional-Nerve-421 · 2023-09-27 02:00 My homepage dashboard is coming along nicely. All the apps you see are locally hosted running either on my NAS or my ubuntu server. It's so nice to see it all tied up neatly into one little bundle. I am having problems with the Mealie widget though so if anyone has that working, please reach out to me 😄 [My dashboard](https://preview.redd.it/xu8r7l4ggpqb1.png?width=1784&fo rmat=png&auto=webp&s=93faef48ee45c9ab3230253814bb9751658cdf2d) For more info to set this up yourself: [https://gethomepage.dev](https://gethomepage.dev/en/installation/) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AZDNice · 2023-09-27 03:43 Damn…. I JUST installed flame and configuring. Now this one kinda looks good too! Glad it’s Docker…I can check it out quick. I like the front end locks on the page to keep bad actors out! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- volcs0 · 2023-09-27 04:58 I set up both. But I'm keeping Flame. It's super fast and simple. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FunkMunki · 2023-09-27 05:05 Did you see the new tabs setting? https://gethomepage.dev/en/configs/settings/#tabs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RazzFraggle81 · 2023-09-27 05:38 Having the same problem with mealie, I believe the beta version of mealie displays api stats. I will just wait for the new release of mealie ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Biog0d · 2023-09-27 05:58 Def gets commits quite often… awesome work! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- redoubledit · 2023-09-27 07:29 Ooooh, there goes another weekend (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- root-node · 2023-09-27 07:31 Agreed, tabs make it so much easier to see what you're looking for. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional-Nerve-421 · 2023-09-27 07:37 😮 I did not!! Setting this up tonight! Thanks! 🤩 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional-Nerve-421 · 2023-09-27 07:37 🤣 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- qqq-99 · 2023-09-27 07:50 i'm still searching the nice YAML that is difficult for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional-Nerve-421 · 2023-09-27 08:31 Ah cool. Glad it’s not just me 😂 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Woke_killa · 2023-09-27 09:43 Dashy is better if you have several vm's. Homepage is ok, but hasjust few customization options. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hardypart · 2023-09-27 11:03 I don't quite understand how this looks in practice. Could you share a screenshot? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Holiday-Advance-7524 · 2023-09-27 11:21 Im new to selfhosting. could someone explain what HomePage is and why it would be neat to setup? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- brand_momentum · 2023-09-27 11:27 Really good stuff ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FunkMunki · 2023-09-27 12:41 [Here's a snippet of mine. I just have 2 tabs set up right now.](https ://selfhostit.dev/content/images/2023/09/Screenshot-2023-09-27- 073830.png) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FunkMunki · 2023-09-27 12:45 [https://gethomepage.dev/](https://gethomepage.dev/) It's pretty much a page with links to all of your services that you are running. Homepage has widgets that let's you easily monitor a lot of services. Some people prefer just to use bookmarks to get to their stuff, but some of us like a pretty home page with an overview of everything. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hardypart · 2023-09-27 13:02 Ah, now I understand. Thank you! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nik_h_75 · 2023-09-27 14:08 Flame is simpler - but better for bookmarks imo. Enable i page with both services and bookmarks - I use it so much (especially with edge browser sidebar) Homepage is great as well, much richer with service stat's - but takes a while to setup. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Holiday-Advance-7524 · 2023-09-27 14:33 Ill give HomePage a try. Appreciate the clarification :D ---------------------------------------------------------------------- luftwaffewar · 2023-09-27 14:47 I went for the nightly omni and the API works! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FunkMunki · 2023-09-27 16:01 No problem! Make sure the read the docs and try not to get overwhelmed with the customizing. Once you figure it out it's really easy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 101br03k · 2023-09-27 16:45 This is perfect, i currently have 2 containers, because the second one is with extra widgets and stuff ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FunkMunki · 2023-09-27 17:08 I've never used Dashi because I don't like the look of it. What customization options does it have that homepage doesn't? Homepage is plenty customizable. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arcaneasada_romm · 2023-09-27 17:47 If you run any apps that a) have some form of API and b) don't have widgets, make sure to upvote their requests in the Discussions on Github (or post your own)! https://github.com/benphelps/homepage/discussions ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Woke_killa · 2023-09-27 18:02 You can't embed a widget e.g. from grafana, or network bandwidth, full server stats, tabs for each vm separately, etc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Woke_killa · 2023-09-27 18:53 Check this out: https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/16tslci/my\_current\_dash y\_setup\_in\_ms\_edge\_browser\_13inch/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional-Nerve-421 · 2023-09-27 20:47 awesome! will do. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional-Nerve-421 · 2023-09-27 20:53 I have a side discussion to this topic and I'd love hear your thoughts: what's your philosophy/use-case with homepage? Are you only using it while at home on your local network? Or is it something more general that you might use while at work or away on holiday or just generally out and about in town? Follow-up question to this is: which URL are you using for your apps and widgets? The publicly available one or the local IP? I've been tossing up the idea of setting up a tab of publicly accessible apps versus only local network available apps. The problem is, there are times when I might want both, or only one, or only the other, and the act of organisation and upkeep gets more complex and messy ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SEND_NUKES_PLS · 2023-09-27 22:18 Just recently switched to Homepage from Dashy, a bit less amount of widgets, but much sleeker looking and easier to set up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional-Nerve-421 · 2023-09-28 04:00 Yeah nice one! I switched to Homepage from Heimdall. Heimdall is really nice looking but no widgets :( ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional-Nerve-421 · 2023-09-28 23:40 Let me know if you need a hand with the yaml. I'm happy to help out :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- badi95 · 2023-10-02 02:44 Is their site down? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional-Nerve-421 · 2023-10-02 20:18 oh wow yeah, I just tried clicking on that link I shared and I got a 404 as well :/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- badi95 · 2023-10-02 20:19 [https://gethomepage.dev/v0.7.0/](https://gethomepage.dev/v0.7.0/) seems to work, and all the links seem to require the version number as part of the name.
