Are there any IRC servers dedicated to providing support for the SO community? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zombodonuts · 2023-03-25 00:17 I'm sure many of you have experienced trolling or abrasive people from time-to-time. The community at r/SexOffenderSupport has it even worse! If anyone can provide info on a safe, constructively moderated IRC server dedicated to helping reduce recidivism amongst these population please share. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TacticoolBreadstick · 2023-03-25 00:44 TL;DR you probably won't find a community like that. I applaud you for trying to get involved in doing the right thing. Whether you are on that list yourself, or just wanting to provide a positive place for others. But the reality is that depending on the nature of the crime that landed people there in the first place, access to technology may not be available at all (or violation of their release agreement). Add in the possibility of those convicted of felonies cannot be in contact with others convicted of felonies. I don't know if some states have rules about being in contact with other offenders or not. And to top it off, the stigma society has just doesn't lead to many positive places, even if the full picture may not be as it seems for some. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2023-03-25 06:00 [deleted]
