I want to get into Irc reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Spencer-Heffron · 2023-03-07 22:09 I am looking for anything alive out there. I want to learn more about coding and Linux. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mark_eliot · 2023-03-07 23:31 I got you. Irc.dark science.bet/6697 -ssl ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Killaship · 2023-03-08 00:22 Okay. IRC is not synonymous with coding and Linux. IRC is still plenty active and alive, with many networks. I'd recommend starting with a big, active one, like OFTC or Liberachat. Google those. Anyways, what I said about Linux means that, while there's communities for that sort of thing on IRC, it's not really IRC as a whole. You can access IRC on any operating system, by installing a client, an app you use to connect to chat rooms. I don't want to ramble on, so I'll just make clear, IRC is not related to coding or Linux, and it's not where you should be looking for advice to start. IRC is not dead, although it's not as active as it was at its peak quite some time ago. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rubinlinux · 2023-03-08 05:24 \#linux on afternet ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nafeesurrehman11 · 2023-03-08 06:40 I will recommend rizon and liberachat for irc networks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Spencer-Heffron · 2023-03-08 07:08 Okay. I wasn't saying there are. I know there used to be networks out there that focused on teaching/learning those things. I guess not so much anymore. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Spencer-Heffron · 2023-03-08 07:09 Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Spencer-Heffron · 2023-03-08 07:09 Checking it out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Spencer-Heffron · 2023-03-08 07:09 Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ruralexcursion · 2023-03-08 07:11 It sounds like you'd enjoy libera. Check out #linux and #programming channels there. [https://libera.chat/](https://libera.chat/) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nafeesurrehman11 · 2023-03-08 13:02 These two networks have most linux, coding tech channels on their network platform but irc is outdated if you want to explore irc i will recommend these clients irssi, Hexchat, Mirc, pidgin, weechat (if you want to use this client then you must have experience in using cli- application). Btw its a nice platform with lots of scammers and use it wisely. 😄 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2023-03-08 15:28 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Spencer-Heffron · 2023-03-08 18:18 I use hex but thank you :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lazy-xo · 2023-03-08 20:25 efnet ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mcdenkijin · 2023-03-08 21:12 there's rizon and oftc, libera has insane ops but it's there, and beware anything labelled "dark" lol ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ComputerTech312 · 2023-03-11 14:05 Honestly although many comments say otherwise, IRC is a great way(comparison to other platforms) to learn about Programming or Linux. Here's a few channels that should help you out somewhat. \- #linux / rizon - ##linux / rizon - #linux / [libera.chat](https://libera.chat) \- #programming / libera You can also search for channels here: https://www.ircdriven.com/channels/search/
