Not able join the official #libre-soc channel

Hi, so I wanted to join the #libre-soc channel in the freenode
network, but it creates a new channel with said name with just me. I
know there is an official channel cuz I can see the latest irc logs.

I followed the  steps given in [irc freenode (libre-
soc.org)](https://libre-soc.org/irc_freenode/) .

Am i missing something. IRC noob here

They moved on to libera.chat apparently:

Wrong network, nobody uses Freenode, they're all on Libera.chat

phew, freenode isn't even in the top 5 for users now. So much for the

Stay clear from Freenode and head to
[Libera.Chat](https://Libera.Chat).

They appear to only be on [Libera.chat](https://Libera.chat) and OFTC:
