How do I connect to a IRC chat that starts with irc:// reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gunfart · 2022-12-27 06:39 when you have an irc client installed, in most (some?) cases an operating system such as windows can recognize the irc link and open it in your installed irc cleitn, such as mirc or hexchat (not sure if hexchat can open irc:// links). or maybe xchat is a better example. anyway, if your operating system doesn't recognize that it's an irc client link to a server (and maybe even a channel too), you can always copy and paste the link into your irc client and connect using /connect give that a whirl and update if you have any issues ---------------------------------------------------------------------- agnostic-infp-neet · 2022-12-28 02:16 Usually the only issue that should stop an IRC client is the port number. Second issue is making your name official or whatever before you can post, sort of like joining a site but not really.
