It's technically a universal client, as being web based and all but I
second that suggestion. The Lounge works well on Chrome with Android.
The push notifications are a bit slow but it's better than nothing at
all.

However it's not exactly an app that you can download. I self-host
mine and I guess there are hosted solutions that you can just rent,
but it still requires a bit more work to get it working.

The reward is there though. You can use the same client on any
computer or any phone or any tablet, with push notifications, URL and
image preview, plus image uploading.

AppIRC uses TLs backend but with native push notifications.

It's definitely great if you can self host.  Even better is it gets
around the issues pretty much any other mobile client would have with
regards to connection/disconnection; even running a ZNC I'd have to
wait for the client to reconnect and load my history - which when
using more than a couple of IRC servers could often take a few minutes
and crash the client.

TheLounge sidesteps all that and it's just a quick webpage reload if
the client is killed or you lose your data connection.
