IRCD for android? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2022-10-19 16:46 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WebChronicles · 2022-10-19 19:14 >Don’t fucking ask why i’m trying to run a irc server on my phone instead of my pc. You've already put your reason there so why should we ask? Lol Without knowing what phone you have, what version it runs, what kind of IRC server you plan on running, etc, I can only say put linux on your phone using Linux Deploy or Termux and look up tutorials for installing an IRC server on Linux ARM. IRC isn't a proprietary piece of software like Discord or Slack, you could literally make your own IRC server using Python if you really wanted too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- l0de · 2022-10-19 20:58 lol why are you even running a server if your life is such a mess? just use one of the thousands of existing servers ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ExBritNStuff · 2022-10-19 21:38 I’m not going to ask you why you are trying to run an IRC server on your phone, but I am going to ask you why you are running an IRC server at all. A server is something users connect in to from their PC, phone, or whatever. If you need external access, will your phone provider even allow incoming connectivity like that? It feels like you’d be able to have a much better quality of service, and much more options with even the lowest available tier of VPS or the like. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Iowa_Hawkeye · 2022-10-20 01:49 You can manage and "keep track" of your server remotely from a client on your phone.
