I keep getting banned reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- F_N_Arg · 2022-07-14 17:03 Hi, I'm trying to connect to the rizon server, and I keep getting this message: Banned until Sat Jul 16 04:09:34 2022: \[G\]\[peer\] Using or hosting open proxies is not permitted - Visit [http://abuse.rizon.net](http://abuse.rizon.net/) for more information. (Akill ID: CBF7ZNGYHR) (2022/7/13 04.09) I just have a regular internet connection, is there anything that can be done about this? \*Update: I got it solved through a support ticket, thanks for all the help ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ProgVal · 2022-07-14 18:03 Visit http://abuse.rizon.net for more information ---------------------------------------------------------------------- drakejones99 · 2022-07-14 20:13 ZNC ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TheBoogerwolf · 2022-07-15 01:22 honestly rizon is a network full of white supremacist shitbags join #truth or #8chan to see why find a better network. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tavaryn_t · 2022-07-15 02:34 Oof, haven't been to Rizon since 2006, hate to hear that but not surprised. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2022-07-15 02:37 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- phate408 · 2022-07-15 05:02 My guess would be that either your IP address is incorrectly on an RBL, or you have a service on your network that is getting identified as a proxy via a scan. For the first possibility, I would recommend forcing an IP address change, how exactly you do that depends on your provider, but that is usually an easy Google search. For the second, I would confirm you have no ports forwarded on your router, particularly 8080, 1080, 80, or 3128. Although it looks like they're using BOPM which should actually have to connect through the proxy to consider it a proxy. If you change public IP addresses, don't have any port forwards open, and are still getting banned, it could be an issue with or compromise of your router (not that I think that's a likely option). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- phate408 · 2022-07-15 05:17 Forgot to mention, if you can't change your IP address you could also try checking your IP address against some RBLs and getting it delisted. I'm out of the loop on what the common lists are for IRC protection these days, but you can find tools to check your IP address against a bunch of RBLs. The lists in those tools are generally email/spam focused, but sometimes you'll see them used for IRC protection as well. Some research could probably find additional RBLs that are more IRC specific, I know some networks like EFnet run their own list based off their scanning, the network I used to admin did as well before we shut down, so you could explore that direction. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- F_N_Arg · 2022-07-15 19:08 Thanks for the hints, It allow me to discover a couple of things: \- 5 RBL have my ip listed, is a small number, but I don't know, maybe they use one of those. \- I'm actually in a CG-NAT, they wanna charge me extra for a personal public IP, if that is the problem I might just bite the bullet, and pay them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- F_N_Arg · 2022-07-15 19:23 Thanks, I filled an appeal, but I though I would have better luck asking here. It was my second time using irc ever, I'm a complete noob on this.
