Revolution IRC commands reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dubbelep · 2022-01-03 19:31 So I'm trying out Revolution IRC as an android client. It's ok, but it doesn't seem to accept commands I know from mIRC such as /who and /ping . Anyone know how? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- YourBobsUncle · 2022-01-03 20:07 Aint there a help or list command you can use? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dubbelep · 2022-01-03 20:13 Can't seem to find it so far. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ProgVal · 2022-01-03 21:21 Looks like you can use `/raw WHO`. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do `/ping ` on Revolution IRC, but you can try this: `/msg \x001PING\x001` Check if there is a way to add custom aliases to make this easier. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nawcom · 2022-01-04 02:50 IRC client commands that start with / are all dependent on if such commands were written into the client itself. The IRC client translates those to the raw commands that the server actually understands and then sends them. The commands themselves aren't complicated, in fact you can connect to an IRC server using telnet if you understand the raw commands and steps to handshake with the server in the beginning. [/ping is just PING](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc2812#section-3.7.2), but if the IRC client doesn't allow a way to send PING then you might be out of luck. I've noticed in general that mobile IRC clients are more limited on what global IRC commands are supported, and those are due to the developer's own decision on the matter. That or they just sorta forgot about that command. \*shrugs\*
