How to setup ngircd behind a reverse proxy (like traefik)?

Hi. I am trying to setup an IRC server on a sub-domain, using traefik
reverse proxy over HTTPS. When I try to connect to the server, the
client cannot login. Does anybody has any experience with such a setup
that works? Thanks!

Can the client see the host at all? That will tell you if for starters
if its a routing issue or a daemon issue.
