Marius was there but not sure where Marius went. Seems to have disconnected and services seem to have left with him? Hope that's not the signal of the real end. I have voiced my interest in bringing back the network to a real functional state and not just keeping on life support. Not sure me voicing that will do anything but I feel as someone that spent so many years using Newnet that its my duty to offer. My timeout settings for irccloud are not configurable, so I may end up trying another client. Their website is also not accessible at www.newnet.net Thus apparently ends my 21-year history as a Newnet denizen. However I have made arrangements with forkup to be able to get things going again. When it comes to IRC, Newnet was my first and I couldn't just watch it go away even with low user counts I think there is great potential for the future. I have setup a basic website which like usual is available at [www.newnet.net](https://www.newnet.net). There is web chat which is currently using a [kiwiirc.com](https://kiwiirc.com) embed. In the next few days it will be replaced with a better solution. Come join and lets bring this beast back to life. I used to hang out in #gaychgo/#gaychicago, #8-18, and a smattering of other places. I saw a lot of nostalgic posts - it too played a big formative role in my development.
