I've been having this issue for some time now even with multiple
machines and reformat of my machine so it must be something that
persists somewhere else.

I've noticed whilst using Hexchat and download a large filer generally
1gb and > my internet disconnects now i assume it isn't the connection
but my DNS but haven't confirmed since windows states i still have
internet connection but accessing anything just returns cannot
retrieve connection and fails on the DNS.

Not sure if anyone has had this issue or can provide any guidance.

You can test your DNS theory; I guess on Windows its the `nslookup`
tool.

I would assume your router is just terrible, auto-detects you are
using DCC, and breaks itself when it does something stupid.
