Importing Color Themes into mIRC? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TimPendragon · 2021-05-23 20:24 So I'm not exactly an IRC noob, but you might as well treat me as one for this conversation. The latest mIRC update has done something to the color scheme - I used to be able to handle the default just fine, but now it's too bright and hurts my eyes. Looking around at the other color schemes included, none of them are really working for me either now. I've googled, and found a lot of older links to [mircscripts.org](https://mircscripts.org) which doesn't seem to exist anymore. Is there a simple script or plugin that I can download somewhere to run and import some of the color themes I've found rather than fiddling with everything manually? My IRC usage has always been pretty simple, so the scripting side of things has never been something I've delved into very much. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Scrawn69 · 2021-05-23 22:18 For mirc I still use nonamescript it's nice and dark but uses the older mirc for it. I still love the script and still using it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TimPendragon · 2021-05-23 22:20 Okay, thanks for the reply. I literally have zero context for what "nonamescript" is or does though... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- krete77 · 2021-05-23 23:11 Are people actively still using mIRC? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TimPendragon · 2021-05-23 23:12 ...obviously? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- krete77 · 2021-05-23 23:12 I mean it’s OLD ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TimPendragon · 2021-05-23 23:14 Again, for those of us "old timers" (I'm mid-30s, so that's relative), it's what we're used to. For basic uses, it's fine, so I don't see what the issue is? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- krete77 · 2021-05-23 23:15 Well I’m 37, and grew up on mIRC, but there’s so many other alternatives these days, ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TimPendragon · 2021-05-23 23:17 Ok. But *why*? If it does what I need (and my IRC needs haven't changed in ages), why change and learn an entirely new program? Is there something it doesn't do that it should? Do you actually have anything to contribute, or are you just here to ridicule? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- krete77 · 2021-05-23 23:18 What do you use it for? Why so brash? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TimPendragon · 2021-05-23 23:21 Instead of addressing the topic of this thread, you essentially posted to say "wow, you're out of touch" and kept at it when you got an answer. And you think I'm *brash*? I'm mildly annoyed because this is a waste of time rather than anything helpful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2021-05-24 01:31 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- krete77 · 2021-05-26 13:19 You need a vacation buddy ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ChaiTRex · 2021-06-16 02:23 I don't use mIRC, so I can't verify this is still correct, but here's [mIRC's official instructions for changing colors](https://www.mirc.com/help/html/index.html?change_colors.html). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AstralDoe · 2023-01-12 03:41 Still goin'. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AstralDoe · 2023-01-12 03:42 You need some tact and social skills.
