I have a frontend for twitch.tv that runs hexchat for any given
channel with a command like

-

`hexchat -d %appdata%\config irc://irc.chat.twitch.tv/#%channel%`

-

normally works fine, but often results in a failed race condition
where the client tries to join before MOTD completes. any better way?
CLI options are poorly documented
