Looking for decent dark mode Windows + GNU/Linux IRC client

Currently using Hexchat with dark colour scheme but it is doing poorly
on reconnects. It sometimes does not reconnect at all.

It also does a poor job at re-authenticating when a disconnect occurs,
many times throwing me out of my nickname leaving me to restart the
client.

I use it to idle channels 24/7 so the client is to be open for weeks
to months (Windows updates are the only thing restarting the device).

Check out Quassel IRC. You can setup your own server, connect it to
multiple networks and channels. And you can connect it to from any LAN
or WAN computer.

Also you can set darkmode in client.

I use [WeeChat](https://weechat.org/) running the weechat relay and
usually I use it with the [Glowing Bear](https://github.com/glowing-
bear/glowing-bear) relay client, so I can just use it from a web
browser anywhere.

I have no need for this. I just need an IRC client that can properly
reconnect after a disconnect and handle re-authentication properly.

I do not think it is that silly of a request for internet connected
applications?

An IRC bouncer is a department I have not asked for, and I have no
need for.

My situation: Laptop (on 24/7) -> Servers

Your suggestion: Laptop (on 24/7) -> Bouncer (on 24/7) -> Servers

How does this optimise my situation? It adds an additional unnecessary
layer. This would be fitting if you want to idle 24/7 and your devices
are not powered on 24/7.

Hexchat has reconnect issues that have been present and complained
about for years but the software is no longer being actively
developed.

That is why I was asking for suggestions on another decent IRC client
that is actively developed.

I need an IRC client that will just properly reconnect and re-
authenticate on a disconnect.

I've used hexchat for years across dozens of irc networks on multiple
OSes and have never had any connection issues. The problem is on your
end.
