Depends what client you are using. If using windows and mIRC is still
around its scripting was really easy. Quassel doesn't have scripting.

Agreed. Just depends on your client. I used BitchX and mIRC in the
past. As of now, I'm using Textual on MacOS. I'm a coder but
sometimes, I just want stuff to work, so I get the desire to not want
to have to script. OP, what client are you using?

I'm using Windows and was, at one point, messing with XChat.
