Trouble with inspircd

Created an irc server on ubuntu with inspircd. It works fine. But I
don't get some of the basics to work.

1. I don't get OP-user to work. It just ignores passwords.

`<oper name="name"`

`password="password"`

`host="@"`

`type="NetAdmin">`

I've tried with both pidgin from another computer, and with irssi from
the local server. Totally ignore OP status. Is it some special command
I need to type in the client?

2. Logging doesn't work.

`<log method="file"`

`type="default"`

`level="default"`

`target="ircd.log">`

&#x200B;

No log is created. Also tried target log/ircd.log and the full path.

Any clue why?

1. `@` is not a valid host glob. You probably want `*@*` instead.

2. `default` is not a valid log type.
