Quick question reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2020-06-20 13:29 Discord has been kinda weird lately. Looking for alternatives, haven't found anything yet. Is IRC something to consider? Is it still a thing? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dijit · 2020-06-20 14:02 Of course it is. I guess it's hard to see how active a community is and what people talk about where.. but there are absolutely active networks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chickennroll · 2020-06-20 16:47 Yea, IRC is great but it *is* a step down from discord. No video calls, no automatic file sharing, (screenshots and other files will have to be uploaded to a link first). But it’s still a functioning service and is a lot of fun. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CepheidVox · 2020-06-21 00:31 happy cake day! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chickennroll · 2020-06-21 03:27 FRYCK! I totally missed it :(. Thanks for letting me know! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- alexrelis · 2020-06-28 10:06 You can definitely use IRC, but I recommend Matrix. It's in my view, the spiritual successor to IRC and it is able to connect to Freenode IRC channels. Riot.im (it is now known as Element) is the most feature-rich client available for the protocol. Message me if you need help setting it up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2020-07-12 23:03 [removed]
