I use weechat (as stated) because I configured it how I like, it's easy to navigate, lightweight, extensible, doesn't distract me and is basically perfect as a multi-user chat program (that doesn't support voice/video- because, most of the communities I'm in would shun it anyway). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mtnz0r · 2020-06-01 10:05 Many years nonamescript 4.22 mirc 6.34 now default ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nicd · 2020-06-01 10:31 IRCCloud. It’s nice. Discord is stupidly overrated. It’s terrible for any sort of organized group work. Not that IRC is much better. I wanted to say thank you for turning me on this. Switching from hexchat to this has been amazing for me. using `weechat-headless --daemon` is so convenient for me, saves me from having to even have the linux terminal open anymore. If you ever had issues getting certbot to work, here are some tips: use crontab to `cat /etc/letsencrypt/live/yoursite.com/{fullchain,privkey}.pem > ~/.config/weechat/ssl/relay.pem` if the file is expired in weechat: `pgrep weechat, kill {pid number}, weechat, /relay sslcertkey, /quit, weechat-headless --daemon` I'm quite sure now I'll use this setup for many years to come. It's far and above better than irssi with the embeds. Thanks again for the advice and information! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OMGItsCheezWTF · 2021-12-20 22:52 Glad you like it! Happy my post was useful to someone! In my experience /relay sslcertkey was always enough on its own to reload the updated certificate without having to quit and restart the relay. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rkoshi · 2021-12-20 22:54 Cool. I think i am going to set a /trigger in my weechat to do this every month or so.
