Any good way to have voice chats? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ujasd8731ejksc0n32cq · 2020-04-23 08:47 I recently checked out discord because I know many who use it but I just cannot use that proprietary piece of bloated shit. What I liked though were the voice chats. Is there any minimalist software to get a voice chat going in a matter of seconds? I think of something p2p, where one could easily /msg someone with an invitation and they get a connection without the need of a server. Don't know if that is possible though. Do you use voice chats and how do you do it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dijit · 2020-04-23 09:11 We use mumble with some custom integration work. You can see it in action here: ircs://irc.darkscience.net/voicechat Just type !register and you’ll get a direct message from a bot with both a web url (which, just works) and a username/password combo you can use in a standard mumble client. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ujasd8731ejksc0n32cq · 2020-04-23 10:15 That's cool! Are you the darkscience admin? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dijit · 2020-04-23 10:27 I’m one of them, yeah. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- buovjaga · 2020-04-23 11:02 There is this, which integrates Jitsi Meet into channels: [https://github.com/kiwiirc/plugin- conference](https://github.com/kiwiirc/plugin-conference) Note that there is a pull request for a rewrite open at the moment.
